  • How do I customize the chart of accounts?
    • The chart of accounts comes as is. If you'd like for me to customize your SmallBiz Financial Hub, purchase the non-standard options. If you have already purchased the Standard Copy but want a customized chart of accounts, email me at contact@workflowseams.com and I will provide you with a discount code to purchase the customized copy or deluxe customized copy.
  • How do I use this template?
    • All you need to do is add and categorize transactions. Download the transactions from your bank via a csv or excel download. You need only the date, description, and amount. Copy and paste the transactions and categorize each transaction to the correct "Account".
    • If you are comfortable, use the journal entry section, otherwise save the journal entires for your accountant or tax preparer.
    • For bank transactions, deposits should be a positive number, withdrawals negative.
    • For credit card transactions, expenses should be positive, credit card payments negative.
    • Reconcile transactions on a monthly or quarterly basis. You can find the reconciliation feature on each bank account tab and credit card tab. Simply input the bank or credit card balance per the statement, then enter the bank statement or credit card statement date, and on the respective bank of credit card sheet, check the box "reconciled" if the transaction shows up on the statement. The "Difference" should be zero once all transactions are marked as reconciled that show up on the statement. If you can't reconcile to the bank or credit card balance, check the transactions. You might have duplicated a transaction or missed a transaction.
  • Does this handle bill pay or invoicing?
    • As of right now, no. This is all cash basis accounting and financial statements.
